Hi, I'm Pete Fitzpatrick, I've spent the last 40 years in the motor trade, the last 30 of them selling cars. That's four decades of getting to know Paint and Bodywork, Engines and many Big Words that go with it, I've met lots of buyers that had no idea about cars and what to check and of course, some Very Unscrupulous Dealers who will happily sell you a load of trouble.. usually with a smile..
My journey began with an obsession that started in childhood, playing with Matchbox, Dinky and Corgi Cars on my Nans table top making the appropriate engine and screeching noises whilst bumping my head on said table in the process causing her fits of giggles, plus, my Dad used to come home in all sorts of interesting cars which I took a great interest in.
I served an apprenticeship in accident-damaged vehicle body repairs, where I learned the importance of quality workmanship, attention to detail, paintwork and recognising the difference between a well-repaired vehicle and one that should be avoided and believe me, there are some Seriously "Cocked up" ones out there.
Over the years, I've worked with thousands of vehicles, from everyday family cars to high-performance cars and classics. I've also been building and owning performance cars since I was 15 years old, I own a very quick early 60's Cortina Mk1 which I built myself. Cars have always been my passion.
Throughout my career I've witnessed one recurring problem: too many people buy used cars without knowing what to look for.. No clue whatsoever and I've seen these people simply get ripped off because of their distinct lack of knowledge, but thats ok because I'm here to help you.
Unfortunately, some sellers rely on that lack of knowledge, selling cars with hidden problems and disappearing or blocking you once the deal is done and they have your money. They were glad to get rid of it.
Parents buying a first car for their son or daughter are often the most vulnerable because they're trying to make the safest choice without having any experience on how to identify potential issues and maybe dont have many thousands to spend on a much newer model.
That's why I created this website.
